That’s where a service like DecorPad comes in handy. It is, in many ways, a social network for home design fans. It’s available on the internet and as a free iPhone app.
Photographs are the key to DecorPad, and many show off the work of top interior designers, complete with notes and explanations. You can view photographs by various room categories, such as bedrooms and kitchens. As a member of the community, you can upload your own photos and get comments from other users.
Color choices are also a way to view the site. In the Paint Gallery section, you choose a color and are then presented with hundreds of pictures of rooms utilizing that particular color. It’s excellent inspiration for thinking outside the off-white paint can.
And, of course, DecorPad helps you shop for the best values. The Look 4 Less section has a variety of gorgeous choices that can replace far more expensive items. For example, a $20 throw pillow at Target that’s a near match to an $89 dollar designer pillow.
As members navigate the site, they can gather photographs they like and save them into sets, for sharing and later reference. And you can discuss design issues in the forums with other members. There are other similar apps and sites, but DecorPad has been around since 2008 and has more than 80,000 registered members. It’s a big community, and it may be perfect for you.
